We produce artifacts as reminders of the culture we hope to create, and as entryways into other conversations about how we live together.

UKAI Projects' mission is to support "culture for what's coming". Culture is the collective inheritance we draw upon to deal with challenges both long-standing and novel. We deliver on cultural projects that better prepare us to deal with ecological and political uncertainty now and in the future. We host residencies, conduct artistic research around emerging themes and technologies, prototype responses, co-produce with partner organizations, and share widely what we are learning.

UKAI Projects is a federally incorporated non-profit in Canada but active internationally including recent projects in Egypt, China, Germany, Malawi, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and elsewhere. Beginning operations in 2019, our projects explore issues where polarized positions are common (but unhelpful), such as artificial intelligence, community development, and economic inequality.
